Inside Cuba II

Inside Cuba II is a photographic journey inspired by our beloved DC artist, the late Nestor Hernandez Jr. (1960-2006). This year marks the 10-year anniversary of Hernandez's show at the Collaborative Art and Visual Education Center, Inside Cuba, which included over 100 photographs documenting the people, land, and culture.

Thanks to Hernandez’s great effort and passion, many local artists and photographers were given the opportunity to travel to Cuba to discover and create. Now, in celebration of Hernandez’s life and legacy, International Visions Gallery joins with members of The Exposure Group of Washington, DC, to share images captured in this wondrous country.

Alongside Hernandez’s photographs, the work of Bonita Bing, George Tolbert, Victor Holt, Jason Miccolo Johnson, Donald Bernard, David Hamilton, Gloria Kirk, and Barbara Manor (all members of The Exposure Group) will be displayed.

International Visions Gallery is thrilled to honor Mr. Hernandez through this glimpse into a country that remains to many of us an unknown world. Join us in exploring “Inside Cuba.”

The Exposure Group (African American Photographer’s Association of DC) is a 30- year-old photographic think tank that provides a platform for improving the professionalism and productivity of its members. www.exposuregroup.org
