Peter Robinson, a native Washingtonian is a graduate of
Howard University. In this exhibition entitled “Contemporary
Expressions VII,” he continues to explore color, movement,
line, and large bold shapes as the forms come together in an abstract
and harmonious way. His artistic development ran parallel to his
career at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, where
he was Director of the Graphics and Management Presentation Division.
His art is highly reflective of his time at NASA; his paintings
explore the grandeur of this world and our surrounding universe.
Peter Robinson has exhibited widely throughout the country, most
notably at the Corcoran Art Gallery, the New Jersey State Museum,
the University of Pennsylvania, the Anacostia Museum-Smithsonian
Institute, the Howard University Gallery, the Atlanta University
Gallery, and the Museum of the National Center of Afro-American
Artists. His paintings may be found in private and corporate collections
throughout the country, as well as in the United States Embassies
abroad through the State Department’s “Art in the
Embassies Program.”
