We cordially invite you to the exhibition of Recent Paintings by Lisa Williamson, In Between. A series of watercolor paintings that portray an inspirational look at the details of nature and the symbolism created through her visual vocabulary.
Lisa Williamson has dedicated this series in memory of her father who cherished his Kentucky farmland. She started this series in 2006 where she explores her world and self in watercolor with what she describes as layering color. Lisa spent most of her early life in Kentucky where she received a Bachelor’s degree in painting and a Masters in painting and fiber. She states “The process of layering color speaks of the timelessness of nature’s events, and the power of place.”
She has a studio in Florida as well as in Washington, DC. And currently resides in her homeland Kentucky, to work in her family’s old barn. Her experience in these three environments has allowed her to fuse together “themes which are of a universal nature that touch experiences we have all shared in common…”
Lisa has exhibited her work in many galleries and museums across the U.S. including the Fuller Craft Museum in Brockton, Massachusetts, Atlantic Center for the Arts in New Smryna Beach and Yvonne Rapp Gallery Louisville, Kentucky. In addition, her work is in selected public collections, including New Heights Restaurant, Washington, D.C.; Ravdin & Wofford, Washington, D.C.; Crone Associates Architects, Chevy Chase, Maryland; Trust for Public Land, San Francisco, California; and Tampa Science Center, Tampa, Florida.
