Baltimorian by birth, but a Washingtonian by residential longevity,
Bill Dorsey literally fell into painting when he ended up on the
steps of the Howard University School of Fine Arts, having been
rejected as an aspiring, but inexperienced music candidate. Guided
and inspired by such notables as Lois Mailou Jones, James V. Herring,
James Wells, and James Porter, Bill launched into a career of commercial
art as an Illustrator, Graphic Designer and Exhibit Designer while
simultaneously pursuing his passion in fine arts arena. He has exhibited
his work at; Howard University Gallery, Howard University Blackburn
Center, Margaret Dickey Gallery, The Corcoran Gallery, Strathmore
Halls Art Center, The Arts Club of Washington.
