Nathan Kaerasora was born on July 26,
1973 in the rural area surrounding Rusape, Zimbabwe near the northeastern
highlands of Zimbabwe. Nathan was raised by his grandparents in
a traditional village and began carving at the age of thirteen.
After High School Nathan moved to Harare, the capital city of
Zimbabwe. There he worked with a group of young artists to establish
the Chinembiri Sculptors Society in Mbarwe, a high-density suburb.
There he mentored teenagers who were unable to attend school.
This program empowered the teens to earn a living rather than
turning to the streets to beg and or become street children. His
work has been exhibited throughout Zimbabwe, including the National
Gallery of Art. Nathan's work has also been exhibited in the United
Kingdom, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Canada, Japan, Australia
and in the United States at International Visions and in Annapolis,
Maryland.
