Lila
Snow was born in Harlem, raised in Brooklyn and studied art here
in Washington at American University and The Corcoran School of
Art. Her oil paintings on wood and canvas reflect an ongoing interest
in codes and calligraphy. Japanese symbols, Hebrew letters and petroglyphs
are used in these paintings for both the shape of the letters and
as a reflection about the cultures. Her paintings have been on exhibit
at the Corcoran Gallery of Art, Baltimore Museum of Art, and Brody
Gallery. She is included in the permanent collections at American
Association for the Advancement of Science, Palermo University in
Buenos Aires, The Philadelphia Museum of Judaica, DC, Radford University
and The University of Maryland.
